Read up on it. The whole story has been twisted over the years to make Polanski look less guilty, and they've tried hard to keep Nicholson out of it. There has been debate for years over Nicholson knowing what Polanski intended doing in his home, etc.
I'm a huge fan of his movies since forever, I read about him, his biography, everything about the terrible murder of Sharon Tate, how they tried to blame it on him, I actually felt sorry for him for his life was so full of tragedy... And I swear that years ago I had debates on the internet where this story was all about a party gone wild with everybody being drunk and drugged, about why a 13y/o would attend such a party etc.p.p.
Funny though that I'm surprised I obviously fell for a fake narrative.
Don't feel bad, I fell for a lot of the PR bullshit out of Hollywood, too. They lie more than most. Just look at the Heidi Fleiss scandal. There's been rumors for years a lot of current actresses started out working for her. They've covered up deviants, murder, drug addiction, you name it.
