I see both sides. in a way, let them have a nice hotel to sleep in and hang in to realize who really supports them. Then as they're shipped off to die, maybe they'll realize they shouldn't have blindly betrayed their country.
The rank-and-file military didn't BETRAY their country, they are following orders or else they'd be COURT-MARTIALED. What did you want them to do? Shoot up the WH? I don't see you storming capitals, so don't you dare call our troops betrayers when you don't know fucking jack.
I wish I could find an old essay I read from a retired Colonel. It was in the vein of why the military would comply with gun confiscation orders.
He argued that the military would never refuse an illegal order (like gun confiscation) because their training focused on discipline and following orders and never even broaches the topic of how to resist an illegal order. He sited a bunch of times throughout history where service members obeyed illegal orders, including blatant ones.
In the military, obedience and discipline are more important than oaths and loyalty.

I'm so fucking sick of people like you.

Did they, or didn't they take an oath to uphold the Constitution? Enemies foreign AND DOMESTIC, no?
If they're told all Trump voters are terrorists and they have to slaughter them, follow orders?
C'mon, man!
