The mask mandate is more political than anything here because it's part of the ongoing pointless state of emergency where the city and county get extra funds from state and federal sources. Stores I go to don't require masks though. Walmart has their security guards playing mask police at the door but if you wanna shop there just put on the mask until you get through the door then take it back off. Lately I've been shopping more at the gas station across the street and at Dollar General since it's about half mile away and doesn't do masks. They have a sign on the door but employees there don't wear masks and most customers don't.
The mask mandate here is a joke though since the governor removed all penalties for not wearing a mask. Supposedly the county can fine a business for not enforcing it but places I go to don't care. Maybe they post the sign at the door just to comply but certain don't seem to care especially since even employees don't wear them. The mask games our government plays has saved me money though lol. Most of my wasted money would come from me walking around in a store, just looking around and end up buying shit I have no need for.
Yeah I agree with all of that. Most places say eh nah we aren't requiring them. I stick to those places as well. It makes sense that they are doing it for the funds unfortunately. I was just confused because of what you highlighted re: DeSantis. I thought we didn't have to follow it anymore. Saving money has been a nice benefit of getting in and out lol.
Hillsborough isn't bad, I live in Tampa
I agree, it isn't bad, but could be better. Like our Mask Mandate that is still active.
