I am torn down the middle on abortion as I hate the procedure but hate the government dictating what people do with their bodies.
But I hope that if you don’t want kids and end up pregnant, even if you’re wealthy or married- that it becomes societally okay to say “I fell pregnant but don’t want kids, yes I could be a parent but I don’t want to, let’s give the baby up for adoption instead of raising a kid that I never really wanted”.
If we get to that point then hopefully abortions will decline.
Also, IUDs and arm implants should be available for everyone FREE OF CHARGE and non-hormonal/non pill BC should be available for teens without parental notification.
A developed baby in-utero is more like a conjoined twin than "part of someone's body". Is it legal and ethical for someone to murder their conjoined twin because they find them inconvenient?
