You still think voting matters? The left's first pick was Harris from the beginning, and when she abjectly lost her own primary they found a way to install her anyway. They do not care about your "vote." They will ignore it, invalidate it or outright cheat their way around it.

There's no such thing as a moderate. There's uniparty and there are Patriots, nothing else. The Senate is highly corrupt because they've been there forever. In the house though we've already filled many seats with allies. That trend must continue, but it can't if we waste our time trying to reform the Democratic party too.

Just voting isn't enough either, but if we're going to do it then it should be for our people and not the lesser evil.

A moderate is a fence sitter who doesn't want to rock the boat.

Basically, they're cucks.

Pick a side.

i wonder how differently things would've turned out if trump had run (and won) in 2016 as an independent/3rd party

I'm old enough to remember when Democrats went on TV screaming about Mattis being nominated for Sec Def because it wasn't right to have a general as the top civilian at DoD. I guess as long as that general has high melanin levels its okay?

Just looked this guy up too. He's the motherfucker who was in charge of the "arming and training of moderate rebels in Syria." Even McStain hated this piece of shit. So Joe Biden appoints the guy who trained and armed ISIS to lead the DoD. What could POSSIBLY go wrong there?

He was black, right?

I mean, Black.

Republicans will never vote against a Black guy because they're afraid of being called a racist.

2
kwall2020 2 points ago +2 / -0

that's the only reason to be a Republican - to play the part of the racist

1
mav2468 1 point ago +1 / -0

But Democrats will fire a black guy (i.e. Surgeon General Jerome Adams) without being accused of racism.

Everyone did resist....But just to clarify Mattis, who was of course Trump's first SecDEF was confirmed 98-1 in the Senate.

https://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=115&session=1&vote=00029

So it seems to me that Sec Def pick almost always get a unanimous vote in the Senate.

Who cares. Every true patriot in the senate should be voting against everything biden does on principle alone. He is illegitimate therefore all his appointments are illegitimate...

I don't disagree about voting against what Biden does, but if we don't have the truth, what do we have?

I know. He was what FILTH. I was just trying say secdef nominees are don't really face significant opposition in the Senate.

Is this the Raytheon guy?

Clearly putting someone with close partnerships with arms manufacturers as Secretary of Defense couldn't possibly be a bad idea.

TwistedSister 5 points ago +7 / -2

A radical too.....holy shit, just so corrupt.

Redpill-notCommieRed 5 points ago +5 / -0

They should force Harris to break the tie in the Senate every single vote on these appointments. Or now that she resigned the CA seat do the GOP still have majority until he replacement comes?

Either way no quarter for Democrat socialists. Make them earn every single win the hard way

2
SmolPedeBestPede 2 points ago +2 / -0

Replacement has already been sworn in.

Republicans are worse than democrats, change my mind.

3
generated_name 3 points ago +3 / -0

No, you're right. The Democrats are more honest about what they really think, and they at least stick together.

Same guy who vowed he would go on a political purity hunt in the military ranks and route out all the "racists" and "extremists" in the military. Guy also promised to overturn the tranny ban, which makes our fighting force less able-bodied to fight. But hey, he worked at Raytheon, so maybe he can smooth over some nice deals for any shareholders working in Congress.

One of the most valuable things Trump did, was to expose the Uniparty.

2
wave1994 2 points ago +3 / -1

GOP is dead man walking.

2
superjason03 2 points ago +2 / -0

The guy was an ex partner at Raytheon, he is the fucking embodiment of Big War. God help us all, especially little brown kids in the sand box, they have no idea what kind of hell is about to be unleashed on them, drone strikes for days.

They need to be dragged onto the street and tarred and feathered

2
thegeeseisleese 2 points ago +2 / -0

As if anyone needed any more proof.

Once again, the D or R next to their name is to keep a portion of the population that likes D or R placated. It's obfuscation of the fact that, at the level these politicians are at, they all believe the same thing, and that's whatever the hell brings in the millions.

Who were the two that voted no, Paul and Cruz?

3
TONY_DANZA_ 3 points ago +3 / -0

Josh Hawley and Mike Lee

1
Axios87 1 point ago +1 / -0

wow, I wonder why Cruz and Paul voted "yes"

1
TONY_DANZA_ 1 point ago +1 / -0

I imagine there's an argument to be made for doing their duty and not stalling the appointment of the Sec Def. Others here mentioned that there's maybe a tradition of the Senate approving the Sec Def pick of the incoming President quickly and near-unanimously.

I'm not making that argument, but I could see Cruz and Paul making that argument

Mattis got 99 votes

As a general rule of thumb: Democrats will stand in unison, Republicans will try to avoid media hit pieces.
