I think that he reflexively called out
when he saw the gun. Well before Ashli
jumped up to go through the window.
It was loud and clear on
his stream, but if you watch the
"Banned video" you can't really hear it,
so I think it was just so loud and chaotic
that Ashli didn't hear it.
She was also pretty short and would
have had difficulty seeing clearly over
the
barricaded furniture.
You can see swatted out police with
weapons, some of them pointed at the
door, on the otherside of the Speaker's
Lobby.
I think this gave hesitancy to
nearly everyone there to proceed,
having just
seen the congress evacuating the
lobby. It may have felt dangerous,
or at least that being the first person
to cross the barricade
would have you isolated on the other
side and susceptible to immediate arrest.
