I wouldn't object to our megacities being turned into their own states and freeing the red areas surrounding them from their tyranny. These cities already control their statewide elections for their governor's mansions and senators so it would free those up, often their mayors have more power than the state governors anyway, and it wouldn't affect the house seats of these areas as it would still be districted relatively the same way.

We don't need to breakup the United States, we just need to divide the states we already have. I wouldn't object to our megacities being turned into their own states and freeing the red areas surrounding them from their tyranny. These cities already control their statewide elections for their governor's mansions and senators so it would free those up, often their mayors have more power than the state governors anyway, and it wouldn't affect the house seats of these areas as it would still be districted relatively the same way.
