Hijacking this comment, because it’s important. Trump appointed him well AFTER the election, and had to ram it through after a huge amount of opposition. He was only appointed two days before the inauguration. So, two questions: 1. Why was Trump so keen to force it through? And 2. Why were they so scared about him doing it?

Maybe we should consider the role itself: General Counsel for the NSA. So, a lawyer for the agency that has everyone’s data, and is in a war with the CIA. What might this mean?
