An idiots guide on doing Gun Control without doing "Gun Control":

Step 1 - Ban felons from owning weapons (even if they've already served their time).

Step 2 - Levy a "tax" (that results in net-negative revenue) on popular styles of firearms and firearm accessories (SBRs, Machine guns, Silencers, Soon to be "high capacity" magazines).

Step 3 - Require citizens to follow a complex, lengthy, and highly invasive firearm tax paying process, denying the vast majority of would-be firearm tax payers from actually paying the tax even if they do everything right.

Step 4 - Make it a felony to not pay the firearm "tax".

Step 5 - Ban open carry.

Step 6 - Require a CWP to carry a weapon concealed (the only other way to carry a weapon).

Step 7 - Require citizens to follow a complex, lengthy, and highly invasive CWP application process, denying the vast majority of applicants even if they do everything right.

Step 8 - Make concealed carry of a weapon without a permit a felony.

Step 9 - Require registration of weapons and ammo.

Step 10 - Require citizens to follow a complex, lengthy, and highly invasive weapon/ammo registration process, denying the vast majority of applicants even if they do everything right.

Step 11 - Make possession of an unregistered weapon or round a felony.

Step 12 - Create "red flag" laws that allow you to confiscate weapons without due process or due compensation from those who "may pose a danger to themselves or others" (literally anybody).

Congratulations - you've successfully gotten rid of all firearms! Constitution be damned!
