So, tens of thousands of national guard are in the joint still and they suddenly have sent the house members home. Impeachment gets handed off to the senate next week and it'll be a shit show. My understanding is that this is not a criminal procedure at this point. Worst that can happen is he gets impeached and can’t hold office again.

First off, Trump can choose to not show up as he is no longer the pres. Second, impeachment will not result in jail.
I know what we do not do. If any one of us committed even the slight semblance of violence we would be playing right into their hands. And if that were to happen Trump would have died in vain.
I’m pretty sure the House session isn’t canceled next week. Lauren Boebert was being hyperbolic because Joe immediately started legislating everything via executive order.
I looked it up, and the only Houses that have cancelled sessions lately are Missouri in December, and Michigan about a week ago.
I love everything Trump has done for this country and I respect his patriotism and drive, but the single greatest thing that he could do for this country is die or face persecution. This would elevate him to the lofty height of martyr, there is no greater a red pill than that. People should listen to the podcast, a history of Rome, this has all happened before. If they do anything but quietly drop it, this will only elevate Trump and his party to greater heights. The Genie won't go back in the lamp.
