We all knew that by the time we got vaccines (really injectable treatment) the virus would mutate. We all knew that the lockdowns were ineffective. We all knew by how far and fast it spread there was never any chance at containing it. But people gave into fear once again and gleefully gave up their rights.
This pandemic should always have been the group at risks self quarantine while society keeps going with the wearing masks indoors, social distancing and frequent washing hands mandates and that's it. The healthy would get and process the virus, the in risk group would take precautions to not be infected and the sick would be quarantined. That's how we beat this with minimal economical impact. Instead they willfully lowered the progression of the virus which would have exhausted potential carriers and amplified our risks of exposure and mutation by limiting everyday life with the lie that hospitals couldn't handle all the sick.

The whole thing could have been over in a couple months if they completely isolated the vulnerable and let everyone else get it naturally.
