Thirdly, if you notice the "and" in the quote above, you will see that removal from office must necessarily accompany the ability to be disbarred from further holding office. Finally, the Senate doesn't have the necessary votes, even with turncoats, to convict the President. Senators have to be much more careful about what they say and do, because while (most) districts tend to be "safe" districts due to gerrymandering, states have a lot more swing to them. This is why so few Senators wanted to sign on to object to the certification.
