Patriots.win is great name but it is very similar to certain well known team. Usually that might not be a problem, but just for the sake of shutting this down they can sue or threaten to sue, since we don't have big legal budget, we won't have any way to fight them. Hope mods have thought of that.

I mean, if you look at the page, it's pretty clear we're Trump related! And we're not doing a lot of advertising. We should be fine. The word patriots have been used in other things like newspapers and such and has a wider meaning.
Plus, considering all the erasure we're doing here in Mass (i'm sadly a local), they'll probably make them change their name to something more neutral eventually anyway.
Kinda hard to prove trademark rights in a generic word like "Patriots," which is probably why they are the "New England Patriots" in the first place.
No, they can't.
Trademarks need to specify a 'class' e.g. "Sporting teams" or apparel. There is no possibility of brand confusion, over and above which "Patriots" is a dictionary word which makes trademark protection even more restrictive to prevent overuse.

No I don't think so, the Patriots team took a regular word and made it into a brand so it only applies to that brand not something completely unrelated to their sports ball nonsense.
Unless we try to field a football team we’re ok.
