Boycott Apple. Don’t buy iPhones. Who wants to see see their stock drop quarter after quarter as their iPhones sales sink. Remember Apple makes most of its $$ on hardware sales. They’re the most vulnerable “big tech” company as we can we can put an immediate huge dent on their bottom line. Upvote

You can set up an iphone without using your apple id, they just make that option difficult to locate.

You mean when they ask you to sign in with an Apple ID you hit the box in the corner that says "Set up without Apple ID." It really doesn't seem that difficult.

I believe the newest version you first have to hit “I don’t have an Apple ID” then on that screen you have to hit “I wish to do this later” or something similar.

Compared to most of the setup options it’s definitely obscure.

Also you can create a burner for your Apple ID and load a gift card for the credit card for in purchases.
