Right now many people are against the sham impeachment, we learned that last time it only made POTUS stronger. They fear that, so they want more time in order to change the public's perception.

There are lots of positions that need to be confirmed. When the articles of impeachment go to the senate they have to stop what their doing and focus on the hearing.
