Withdrew kids the day the potato-in-chief was sworn in

I just saw an local article that basically says as long as you attending status for your grade your child can go to next level without having passing grades. You can graduate HS without passing all core curriculum.

Congrats on taking your kids out. I hope you find a good curriculum to teach and/or a local tutor to help you. Best thing for them.

I went with Abeka homeschool. My son is so far behind because of public school failures. (I pay a buttload in taxes for failing schools too) He will be taking double the classes to graduate on time.

I am sorry to hear your son will have to go through that. I hope he surpasses expectations that you set for him. Best wishes to him and his future.

I'm seething. Read this shit:

Black Lives Matter at School Guiding Principles

The Black Lives Matter Movement is guided by the following principles.

Restorative Justice – We are committed to collectively, lovingly, and courageously working vigorously for freedom and justice for Black people and, by extension, all people. As we forge our path, we intentionally build and nurture a beloved community that is bonded together through a beautiful struggle that is restorative, not depleting.

Empathy – We are committed to practicing empathy; we engage comrades with the intent to learn about and connect with their contexts.

Loving Engagement – We are committed to embodying and practicing justice, liberation, and peace in our engagements with one another.

Diversity – We are committed to acknowledging, respecting, and celebrating difference(s) and commonalities.

Globalism – We see ourselves as part of the global Black family and we are aware of the different ways we are impacted or privileged as Black folk who exist in different parts of the world.

Queer Affirming – We are committed to fostering a queer‐affirming network. When we gather, we do so with the intention of freeing ourselves from the tight grip of heteronormative thinking or, rather, the belief that all in the world are heterosexual unless s/he or they disclose otherwise.

Trans Affirming – We are committed to embracing and making space for trans siblings to participate and lead. We are committed to being self-reflexive and doing the work required to dismantle cis-gender privilege and uplift Black trans folk, especially Black trans women who continue to be disproportionately impacted by trans-antagonistic violence.

Collective Value – We are guided by the fact all Black lives matter, regardless of actual or perceived sexual identity, gender identity, gender expression, economic status, ability, disability, religious beliefs or disbeliefs, immigration status, or location.

Intergenerational – We are committed to fostering an intergenerational and communal network free from ageism. We believe that all people, regardless of age, show up with the capacity to lead and learn.

Black Families – We are committed to making our spaces family-friendly and enable parents to fully participate with their children. We are committed to dismantling the patriarchal practice that requires mothers to work “double shifts” that require them to mother in private even as they participate in justice work.

Black Villages – We are committed to disrupting the Western prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, and especially “our” children to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.

Unapologetically Black – We are unapologetically Black in our positioning. In affirming that Black Lives Matter, we need not qualify our position. To love and desire freedom and justice for ourselves is a necessary prerequisite for wanting the same for others.

Black Women – We are committed to building a Black women affirming space free from sexism, misogyny, and male‐centeredness."

I stopped at Empathy, because they literally used the word 'comrades'. Like... Could you be anymore obvious?

Get your kids learning the classics. Latin, Greek and Hebrew, at least. Find a good great books list and start reading I recommend Mortimer Adler's "How to read a Book" and 'Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata" by Orberg. If you want to learn more, hmu. I am a classics and Great Books tutor.

I went through a Great Books program and holy hell was it all propaganda! We had to read Thomas Paine and the Federalist Papers, look at Cèzanne, and even Weber and Marx. All I ever heard was white, Christian male.

NazisWereSocialist 4 points ago +4 / -0

You’re kidding about Thomas Paine and The Federalist Papers right? Those are good reads

5
Yams_are_better 5 points ago +5 / -0

his whole reply is sarcasm lol, he's making fun of liberals who call our stuff bad

1
SSYM69 1 point ago +1 / -0

Not for them. All they pointed out was white, christian male and nullified everything they said because racism and systematic oppression. Any buzzword you can think of, it was used at some point or another.

I wonder how many black trans queer folk reside in a town of 84% white, in a state that's 91% white?

I took some days off from my job the other day and saw that my brothers teacher was pushing this BLM BS on the class; mind you that he is 8 YEARS OLD. I nearly went off on his teacher. I’m telling my parents to either give the teacher some shit or withdraw them from school. KIDS SHOULD NOT BE SUBJECTED TO ANY POLITICAL PROPAGANDA.

This is what the billions of dollars is going to. Indoctrination .

I feel fucking violated having this freak show come to my home state. All this BLM shit always seemed so far away, like it was a Portland or east coast thing. Now it's here in my backyard and it's fucking gross. Like finding out the old dude living at the end of your block in your peaceful little town where nothing ever happens is a convicted child molester or something. "It could never happen to me" until it does

This is radical Marxist indoctrination at school.

If you have this happening at your school, I would focus on complaining about the radical Marxist aspects of this. Tell them you want your kids to learn about the bill of rights, individual rights, individual responsibility to respect the rights of others, civil rights, and equality of rights, for all races of people, not ethnic nationalist Marxist propaganda or Marxist group vs group warfare stuff.

defiant_liberty 5 points ago +5 / -0

You can't trust the state with your kids. We need the separation of education and state, similar to the way we have the separation of church and state.

Officially withdrew them a week after they closed schools in March 2020. Never going back.
