Exactly.

This isn't a mistake. They're not "dumbasses" they are deliberately trying to make people desperate and most of all DEPENDENT on the government.

Without people dependent on them, they have no power.

raising the min wage just means less jobs to go around.

importing millions of south americans means less jobs to go around.

anyone who is black and voted for biden deserves what's coming.

anyone who is white and voted for biden, will also deserve what's coming. Even if you have a IT job, they are still importing millions of H1B visa indians to replace you.

Facebook and Twitter have Indian staff that are working as quickly as they can to censor Americans using CCP style techniques.

It's basically a slow walked invasion and population replacement to defeat the United States from within.

Economies of scale. This destroys areas in the low end of markets usually rural and puts a cap on earnings in urban areas. It hurts more than it helps.

That's exactly why a federally mandated minimum wage of $15 is a terrible idea, especially at a time when small businesses are still reeling from massive amounts of debt due to the lockdowns. Minimum wage should correlate to cost of living in that particular area, and while a $15 min wage makes sense in certain cities like SF or NYC (where min wage is already higher anyway), but certainly not everywhere in the US.

How many jobs did this bum fuck cost American so far?

I'm going to love watching the economy crash.

dudewhat4real 20 points ago +21 / -1

He knows. He doesn't give a fuck.

I just got a raise to $15/hr. Been working a year and a half at $13.50/hr. If this goes through, I'm back to being minimum wage. I really feel like I would no longer have a reason to live.

13
SocialJudgmntWarrior [S] 13 points ago +13 / -0

My son makes $16/hr as a college intern, computer engineer. He'll now be $1 above minimum wage. Most engineering internships are at least double minimum wage and they're not going to pay him $30/hr.

tell me about it, im making 18/hr for doing hard manual labor........

4
crazyjackel 4 points ago +4 / -0

Inflation might do it, but minimum wage law is inheritably bad for everyone. Employers get less employees, employees working have higher expectations laden on them that they typically can't meet, and applicants for jobs find themselves unable to find one.

2
Pablo76 2 points ago +2 / -0

That's the funny thing about getting paid minimum wage, it's like they're telling you "We would pay you less, but that would be illegal"

1
MehNahMehNah 1 point ago +1 / -0

Minimum wage should be a dollar per hour, then everyone could feel wealthier where they are, and negotiate for what they need.

So you work at a job that you Make !7 bucks an Hour and you are a Shift Manager, over people making 8 buck or 9 bucks an Hour. Now they make 15? So now you want 25 bucks an hour. Where does it end? Company either gets rid of you or they Charge tons more money for Product. Welcome to Canada in the 1980s, where they tried to charge me for a large one topping pizza for 22.00 Dollars American from Dominoes.

9
Pikes985 9 points ago +9 / -0

$15 minimum wage was originally devised to boost Union wages with the increase. Now the Unions dont want it, they want the great wages they were making under Trump, not see their jobs off-shored again by Dems.

5
crazyjackel 5 points ago +5 / -0

Minimum wage is one of the few remaining enforced laws on the books that was originally created with racist intent. The prevailing line of thought was that if a black person and a white person applied for the same job, no self-respecting white person would hire the black person for the same wage as the white person. However, if the black person offered to work for less than the white person, the white person might hire them over the other white person.

9
HanginChad 9 points ago +9 / -0

Why not $150 per hour? Fuck it make it $1500

The reason that would fail is the same reason $15/h will fail.

2
AuntTifa 2 points ago +2 / -0

I want $15,000 an hour. But then the govt would tax that back down to $15 anyway I suppose. Let's just make all jobs $15 an hour. We would have true Equity and we could Build Back Better even better! and the poor kids will frolic along with the white kids and grandad will keep the record player on at night and no one would have to worry about trunalimunudprzure.

Be honest - he does realise!

It's the people that haven't got a clue.

6
BroRogan 6 points ago +6 / -0

Nope, a small business cannot afford to pay $15/hr bc no one buys a $15 burger.

The business will shut down, the community will be deprived of a burger place, the guy will be deprived of his job, and the owner will lose everything he worked for.

People think that raising the minimum wage is raising a floor, it is actually putting up a hurdle.

2
DruglousFairbanks 2 points ago +2 / -0

Guy making $15 dollar burgers is watching people pull into the ALDI across the parking lot to buy grass fed organic ground beef for $4.50/lb.

4
DeplorableDC 4 points ago +4 / -0

Erasing the middle class thats what he’s doing. Just poor and rich.

But the numnuts in my state don’t get it. Minimum wage-if it should exist at all- should be like $6. Then after 90 days u get a review and a raise if u don’t suck. I progressively work up the ladder or get a better job or better skills.

4
Not_The_CIA 4 points ago +4 / -0

yup and dont the forget illegals that coming to take your job from you for less......

4
MsAnthropic 4 points ago +4 / -0

1

The new mafias are going to be interesting to say the least.

This has failed everywhere its been tried. I read about the fast food places that were forced to implement it. They could not afford to pay the employees so they raised the prices of their food and still couldn't make a profit. They end up cutting hours and only using minimum staff which makes it a living hell for the employees. Result: a massive turn over in employees. No one gets rich. Its a liberal pipe dream and looks great on paper.

With Covid shutting a lot of businesses, they aren't even hiring anyone. They're just trying to hang on with the minimum amount of employees they have and most of those have their hours cut. The Walmart in my area put in self check outs and cut their employees.

5
IGfodder 5 points ago +5 / -0

This combined with the covid closures is going to be the final blow to small businesses. They can't pay their bills now, why would they be able to pay their employees more? This is all according to plan too, biden will absolutely crash the current system so he can implement full on communism or socialism, then we will quietly be handed over to the chinese after its all done with.

3
Pleepleus 3 points ago +3 / -0

Local grocery store already installed self check out kiosks in preparation for this.

3
commies4jail2021 3 points ago +3 / -0

As different parts of China have very different standards of living, China does not set one minimum wage for the entire nation. Instead, the task of setting minimum wages is delegated to the local governments. Each province, municipality, or region sets its own minimum wage in accordance with its own local conditions.

Wow, It's almost like it makes sense for each region to govern itself.

2
KekJeanVanDayum 2 points ago +2 / -0

Oh we will. If federal is $15 you just know that CA is going to crank it up to $20-$25

3
crazyjackel 3 points ago +3 / -0

Minimum wage is a law that sounds good on paper, but fails in real-life.

In economics, the price of a good or service is set due to supply and demand. In the case, wages act as the price that the employer is going to have to pay.

As prospective wages increase, the number of applicants for a position increase, acting as the supply. Alternatively, as prospective wages increase, the number of positions the company desires to fill decreases.

The point at which supply and demand meet is dictated as "equilibrium" or the point at which both the supplier and the consumer (employer) are satisfied and cannot get more satisfied. Ideally, every applicant gets a job and every position is filled with wages geared towards the desires of both the employee and the employer.

When minimum wage is set above this "equilibrium", it leads to a disconnect between how many positions an employer wants filled and how many applicants there're for the job. Employers at higher wages might desire to make do with less employees than before, while prospective applicants have more desire to obtain the job and it's wages.

Effectively, the minimum wage has destroyed jobs and made the remaining few jobs much more competitive. Those who maintain their jobs, typically do enjoy higher levels of earning, but a much greater cost is paid by employers and by prospective employees that do not get the job.

3
DeePlorable 3 points ago +3 / -0

a $15 minimum wage will have a reverse effect. 1 year ago they raised the minimum wage to $13.25 an hour in the suburb I live in outside of NYC. I was making $11 an hour working retail and got a $2.25 an hour raise. At first I thought it was great and then I realized how the big box store I worked at figured out how to screw us and save money.

All of our paid vacations were immediately taken away and most of us either had our hours cut in half or got fired. The ones that remained had to run a store the size of a football field with only 2 employees on each shift doing the work of 4 people each. With our hours cut, we made half of what we did. Big corporations will make sure they don't get affected by this, but mom and pop small businesses will have the most to lose. Biden is an asshole.

3
defiant_liberty 3 points ago +3 / -0

Everybody owes it to themselves to ddg(duck duck go) the racist history of the min wage, and how it was used to screw over black workers.

2

You've just described one of the elements of H G Wells' The Time Machine.

3
MsAnthropic 3 points ago +3 / -0

$15 an hour working full time puts you well above the poverty line. The poverty threshold for a single person under 65 is $13,300 per annum. Assuming they work say 48 weeks a year and do say 38 hours a week (which is what we suckers do) then their hourly rate would be $7.30. In other words, he’s proposing to raise the minimum wage to be more than double the poverty line, while claiming that $15 an hour is still below the poverty line.

NB: Anyone who thinks that minimum wage laws help vulnerable and low-skilled workers is a moron, and needs to read an economics textbook. Preferably one by Thomas Sowell or Milton Friedman.

1
MehNahMehNah 1 point ago +1 / -0

Plus with the rollback of tax reform anyone making $15 an hour working 38 hours a week for 50 weeks out of a year pays more taxes - a much larger percentage - than under president Trump.

2

2

This is probably more about unions and others that have labor agreements tied to a multiple of the minimum wage. Then the dues can go up and that's more cash in the Dems coffers.

1
Prete67 1 point ago +1 / -0

If, by their logic, raising the minimum wage doesn’t cause inflation why stop at $15? Fuck it raise it to $150/hr. We’ll all be millionaires using $100 bills for bookmarks, at least that’s all they’ll be useful for.

1
Ladybug87 1 point ago +1 / -0

In cities like Seattle they add a few $ to your bill (at least in some restaurants) and they call it a "minimum wage” surcharge. This is because restaurant owners can't afford to pay their employees the $15/h that they are forced to pay by the state... so you, the customer, end up paying it.

1
Bdnsnotmyprsdnt 1 point ago +1 / -0

This is whats happening.

Crisis - this is a major step lasting up to six weeks and involves a revolutionary change of power. This is where a cataclysmic event upsets and divides the country thereby creating panic among the citizens. Recent examples include the 2011 upheavals in the Middle East, most notably Egypt and Libya. To Americans, symptoms would include circumventing the Constitution and altering the checks and balances of government, and possibly martial law.

1
JediDwag 1 point ago +1 / -0

Whenever people claim that $15 an hour will increase the wealth of the minimum wage worker I always point out that it will only increase the cost of everything leading to inflation. They claim it won't and then I ask if we can just mandate an increase in wealth by raising the minimum wage then why stop at $15? Why not $20? Or $30? Or $50? Or $100? Why not $1000? If more is more why not make everyone rich? Then they say well that's not reasonable, obviously that will cause problems, and I point out that we agree and are now simply arguing numbers, and I happen to think $15 is too high.

1
knightofday 1 point ago +1 / -0

People REALLY need to stop calling these people dumb, they know the outcome of 100% of the policies they implement. Their only mission is to destroy us.
