I am a biochemist. I work in the pharmaceutical industry, but not specifically on vaccines. There are no vaccines for Covid that are approved by the FDA. The Covid vaccines have not been through the rigorous testing required to be approved. Instead they are considered experimental vaccines approved for emergency use. My company is strongly encouraging its employees to get the vaccine and are providing them on site. I refuse to get it. I cannot in good conscience reccomend anyone take it. Thanks for your advice, Pede. I wasn't planning on it. Curious on your opinion - I feel like Trump has showed he has the American citizen's best interests in mind. Thats why I can't figure out why he pushed this vaccine and keeps speaking of this accomplishment. Is it just so we can open the country? Is it due to his lack of experience in medicine/disease?
Here is my opinion.... Trump is a businessman, so his knowledge of disease, epidemiology and vaccines is limited. As such, he relied heavily on the advice from "experts" in the CDC, FDA and NIH, as well as vaccine manufacturers. These people are more politicians than doctors, and since his own military generals lied to him about troop locations and movements, is it so hard to believe that these "experts" could have lied, obfuscated and omitted information in regard to the vaccines safety and efficacy? Trump is a good man, but still just a man. He can't know everything.

I believe he knows this covid stuff is bullshit, but believed that he couldn't survive politically if he didn't go along with these measures.
I've disagreed with him on this issue quite a bit, but acknowedge it would be political suicide for him to do otherwise. You won't see him take it though. For fucks sake he had covid and was better in like 3 days.

it's because the disease itself is largely bullshit for 95+% of the country. so, a vaccine is largely a feel good measure even if it will technically "help" that >5% of the country that "needs" it to get back to normal.
not fast tracking a vaccine would've make no sense under the circumstances. also, he's not the kind of guy that is concerned with what the specific solution is but rather in securing it as soon as possible. so if the "experts" all told him a vaccine was what was needed that is what he focused on and rightly so.
i can't really think of an alternative course of action on this that makes any sense.

I’ll never take any COVID vaccine. First, I don’t need it because the virus is safer than the vaccine. Second, I know too much to put a biological poison in my body. Third, trust commies to do something with your body? No, thank you!
I'll walk out on everything if I have to, in order not to take the vaccine. Yes, the vax is in emergency use, meaning they skipped the phases needed for this drug to fully tested as it normally would. Basically, we are guinea pigs for the next couple years. Or as someone put it, gene therapy. At least until they have actual data that the vax is safe for everyone.
Last time I read that 55 have died and numerous people have had adverse side effects (in the US). Even a doctor a died but they never can admit that it was related to the vaccine. No telling how much we are lied too. If they can infalte the covid number, they are for sure deflating the vaccine deaths/reactions. Not even including the people that decide not to fill in the surveys about how the vaccine affected them.

The big issue here is we cannot trust our medical experts to be impartial or honest. Telling what is now confirmed to be the truth now would have got many doctors fired a week ago. All of them lied abd whether it was for idealogy or to save their own skin it doesn't matter.
I also will not be taking it.
