Ah the land of the Government worker where several hundred thousand service job workers live in near poverty because of the high economic cost zone.. Do they deserve 2 Senators? NO do they deserve several Rep's.? No.. This move makes as much sense as Texas splitting into 5 separate States or California or Florida or New York.. Where does it end?? That is why they were setup as a District so they would not have any power in the seat of power.. In actuality the President should also be the Mayor of D.C.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there something in the constitution that said the capital of the country shouldn't be a state? Not that these fuckers follow the damn thing when it's inconvenient to them, but still.

Will politicians who live mostly in DC (a new state) actually still be eligible to represent their current districts/states?

For example, if a congressman works in Arkansas, has a house in Arkansas where their kids attend school, can he really run for congress in Texas?

It’s even dumber than you think. The plan is to shrink the size of the district, presumably down to just SCOTUS, White House, National Mall, Capitol etc. Essentially just a tiny congressional neighborhood, with the surroundings converted into a crop electoral votes for Democrats in the form of a new “state.”
