Now they've come up with a new charge - Trump "plotted" to replace the acting AG.

Um, it's not illegal for a President to replace an AG.

They charge is that it was done for corrupt purposes... If that happened, it is a problem because even conspiring with another to commit a corrupt act is a crime.

lol So are they mind reading here, or is this the new "collusion"?

Because wtf even are "corrupt purposes," in a political sense? Like, doing something to increase your own power? lol Okay, so I guess Nancy has a few things to explain then. Like getting someone to do what you want in the executive branch using political pressure regardless of regulations? Ooof, those anti-ICE people are going to have a rough time I guess.

This is mind reading nonsense, and unless everyone really wants to actually have this conversation about motives, and not just about Trump who isn't even a politician now but actual sitting politicians with power (like ones that fucked Chinese spies, for example), then I suggest they back down.

And regarding the second point, the "corrupt act" has to be a crime in order for the conspiracy to be a crime. Otherwise, we have to shut down every NGO in the entire world right now--they're all conspiring to commit all sorts of corrupt acts. That's the thing: the "conspiracy to commit corruption" only comes into play when the "corruption" is in a legal sense. For instance, bribery or trying to sell a legislative seat.

So, I ask for the 50th time this type of charge has been made since Trump was inaugurated, what fucking law was broken here? Remember, our laws are coded and written down: just saying "hurpa durpa he corrupt" isn't a thing...

Or didn't used to be, at least. And honestly, I highly recommend politicians keep it that way.

The AOCs of the next generation are watching, and I'm not sure they'll remember that these rule changes were only to be used on the evil drumpf and not on Pelosi when they decide it's time.

3
Noadhominem 3 points ago +3 / -0

They thrive off of mind reading nonsense.

“But he’s actually racist” “But we know what he really meant”

They project their own falsehoods and apply inaccurate context to actual words or actions to everything.

That is where all of their power derives. If you oppose you are racist, tarred, feathered, and need to personally defend yourself which is an impossible feat with people who’s brains are short circuited and living in upside down world.

Soooo, most people stay silent.

An AG who will do what the boss, President, wants isn't a corrupt purpose. It's not corrupt for a President to put in place people who will do what the President wants.

Obama's AG did what Obama wanted, and Obama placed those AG's in the office because they would do what he wanted.

Biden is placing people in positions because they will do what he wants.

1
conservativefrank 1 point ago +1 / -0

Nobody said he was.

Who appoints the AG? Will Biden appoint an AG?

A President can direct the AG to investigate something of interest. A President can fire an AG who doesn't investigate what he's asked to. It happens all the time. Trump isn't the first President who fired or wanted to fire AG's.

The issue is Trump wanted an investigation into something the leftists didn't want to investigate. That's your real point.

"You don't get how this works. Only leftists can tell an AG what to investigate."

conservativefrank 1 point ago +1 / -0

When the riots in Ferguson happened, President Obama directed the AG to investigate Wilson shooting Brown. Those aren't my words. Those were Obama's words.

The current President bragged that he withheld funds from Ukraine until they fired a prosecutor who was investigating Biden's son and his company.

Go post at Biden.lost.

Most Presidents, at some time, give input to the AG as to who to investigate. They also fire AG's who consistently don't investigate.

You're arguing that it was somehow illegal for Trump to have asked an AG to investigate a crime.

Ridiculous.

I really think they are going to try to put him in jail.

He has a massive following. Incredible influence. In the tens of millions. Even as a former President he can burn the system down with a viable 3rd party.

There is too much money at stake for them to allow this. They want him silenced.

41
NullifyAndSecede 41 points ago +41 / -0

Look at the treatment of: Ron Paul, Bernie Sanders, Donald Trump.

The uniparty will not allow outsiders.

17
MegoThor 17 points ago +17 / -0

Bernie Sanders isn’t an outsider.

16
hungryfreaksdaddy 16 points ago +16 / -0

I would contend that Bernie was an outsider the first time around, but then he played ball and endorsed Hillary.

8
Meddlesom 8 points ago +8 / -0

Nah, Bernie was always there to play his role and get freshly indoctrinated college commies to vote for party.

2
Monty_Cello 2 points ago +2 / -0

Nah. I think he's a weak-handed true believer. He wants communist utopia, but he knows institutional power is too strong to let a populist ever reform it. Which is why unlike Trump, who fought hard and never sold out, Bernie sold out and moved on. He's nearing the end of his life and probably just wants to go out quietly.

-2
NTD_NEWS -2 points ago +1 / -3

Ron Paul and Trump endorsed Romney also.

5

Bernie Sanders is the rebellious teenager who dies his hair blue and talks about the evils of capitalism and big corporations - and maybe even believes his own bullshit - and then comes back home to ask his parents for $1000 for a brand new iphone.

Except he's like 80 or some shit.

If he had a shred of integrity within him it died around mid 2016 when he betrayed his supporters, went back on his promise to take his campaign to the Democratic convention and endorsed Hillary (after raising money for that supposed effort - "no refunds"). Ever since then he's acted basically the same as any other establishment Democrat, the same talking points about the bad orange man. The only difference is he also asks for more big government programs at a slightly faster rate than the other Democrats.

Some believe he may have been blackmailed over his wife's bank fraud when she bankrupted some small college in vermont by claiming she had received donation pledges that didn't exist.

3
D0NNIE_DARK0 3 points ago +3 / -0

He’s always been a grifter.

2
MegoThor 2 points ago +2 / -0

Bernie has been a grifter since day 1. Before GEOTUS, he always knew that the DNC would never allow a known Socialist on the ballot for President. Now that elections don't matter, it doesn't make any difference who they run.

Trampus 17 points ago +19 / -2

How many votes do they need to impeach? If it’s only 51, it won’t matter what Mitch or any other Republican senator says. I also think Sloppy Steve should stop saying on his show that all the receipts will come out in a trial, proving Trump’s innocence, as if this will be anything other than a show trial. I don’t even have faith in the Supreme Court shutting the whole thing down because they clearly have no constitutional right to impeach a private citizen.

19
ShepherdFromRedCa 19 points ago +19 / -0

67 votes are needed in the senate.

9
HighDragonEnergy2 9 points ago +9 / -0

Pretty sure they need 2/3rds majority

-1
deleted -1 points ago +5 / -6
2
rmayday 2 points ago +2 / -0

Obviously you don't watch. He never said HE was going to provide receipts. He said you had to have them to prove something such as election fraud. Too many receipts turned in for that one to count.

1
zigmund_fraud 1 point ago +1 / -0

Bannon jumped on nearly every claim of fraud regardless of how verifiable it was. He was not able to show receipts for probably more than half of what he was pushing.

I'm not saying AT ALL that there was no evidence of fraud. There was tons.

Bannon wasn't as bad as Lin Wood, but he certainly wasn't a whole lot better. He elevated a good number of people that didn't deliver.

1
130percent 1 point ago +1 / -0

What the fuck kind of weird shilling is this? I've been seeing a lot of you lately making this weird fake point.

There was a FUCK TON of direct evidence. Corrupt uniparty judges, media, and politicians pretending it's not real doesn't change that.

The biggest lesson from 2020 is that you can have DIRECT FUCKING EVIDENCE and they will still ignore it. There was always a sort of assumption that they were biased, but if the evidence was strong enough, then they would be forced to act correctly because of optics.

Turns out that's not the case.

1
zigmund_fraud 1 point ago +1 / -0

Read my post history before calling me a shill. That's kind of a pretty absurd claim to level against me.

I agree there are mountains of evidence of fraud. I am more referencing all of the folks Bannon gave a platform to and assured us that they had receipts. Many of them did not.

That isn't to say that none of them did, or that there wasn't evidence. Bannon is no Raheem Kassam, I will just put it that way.

-4
CantStumpTheTrump20 -4 points ago +2 / -6

I think 51 makes it so he loses his chance of running again though. As well as secret service and other perks.

14
RudeOfTheTurks 14 points ago +14 / -0

Nope. He needs a 2/3rds conviction for that. Besides, at this point the impeachment isn't even constitutional. They're holding a trial for a private citizen regarding an office he doesn't have.

7
4more 7 points ago +7 / -0

The constitution doesn’t matter.

2
grapenuts 2 points ago +2 / -0

1

The Bidoof regime is proof they don't.

1

It cost them, though. They were clearly willing to pay any price. Remember that this was impossible without Republican support as well.

2
80960KA 2 points ago +2 / -0

I honestly don't see this government lasting a whole lot longer in its current form. People already had a VERY low opinion of fedgov in general across the board, and now >50% questions the very legitimacy of the government.

I can see them pulling increasingly desperate bullshit till it all falls apart.

1
Dreadnot 1 point ago +1 / -0

Once people really start suffering, it's going to get ugly. The first to snap will be the people that have believed the lies.

14

The answer to the question is longevity. We need term limits.

7
sanmannight 7 points ago +9 / -2

3

short terms mean shallow roots in the swamp so it is less likely they would be given large chunks of cash for long term projects.

13
Glue_sniffer1000 13 points ago +13 / -0

Would convicting him in the Senate disqualify him from ever running again? That's the only reason I could see why they're even still talking about it

5
jackneefus 5 points ago +5 / -0

The Senate can specify as part of the impeachment that the candidate is disqualified from running for office in the future.

1
85Dacudo 1 point ago +1 / -0

Thé problem is them impeaching him kills any chance of them ever running for President either.

11
RudeOfTheTurks 11 points ago +11 / -0

Contact your senate representatives. Let your voice be heard. If the Republicans want to impeach Trump then their party is as good as dead. Anyone who votes for it should be primaried, and if the impeachment succeeds vote against all republicans just on principal.

8

The party majority leader is voted on by the party. Write your senate representatives. Unfortunately for me, that is Mitch himself.

Mitch is making sure the GOP commits political suicide by going after trump. He is delusional if he thinks 75+ million Trump supporters will forget this come 2022. But just maybe...just maybe, he realizes that having the senate waste weeks if not months trying to impeach Trump is actually making the corrupt and illegal Biden administration look weak, vindictive and unorganized as nothing gets accomplished. Ah, what am I thinking of? McConnell isn't that bright.

4

After the last election the smart ones realize they just need a few friends in the voting machine companies or reliable counters in the city, not actual votes.

IMO we need to do a big push at the local/state level to get the voting systems straightened out so a few well placed individuals can't throw an election.
