Wait, is this a joke? Gates wants to fill the atmosphere with aerosols to block the sun? Imagine if he gets that done - one man taking the sun away from everyone.

It was done in one of the versions of the Time Machine.
The guy visits a future time in which scientists have tried to alter the orbit of the moon. As a result, the moon cracked, the tides were put off, and it was a disaster.
The time traveler visits a time when the project is being planned - complete with fact checkers claiming it's a fake conspiracy theory; he visits a time just as the project is beginning; he visits a time when the project has just ended and the moon is first cracked; he visits a time when only half the moon remains, and the disaster is ongoing; he visits the time long after the disaster, when the morlocks are harvesting people for food.
I like this headline better: HUNDREDS OF CLIMATE SCIENTISTS DEMAND IMMEDIATE END TO BILL GATES.

Snopes says this isn't true. It claims there are no plans to do this. no plans to release anything into the atmosphere to block the sun. There are just plans to release something into the atmosphere to block the sun - to gather data on thee plan...that Snopes claims isn't real.

It's pretty clear by now, no one, not even Bill Gates has any concept of thermodynamics. If it weren't for the outright pollution we would all have to deal with I would love to see him go broke trying to put his plan into action. It would become insanely prohibitively expensive at some point and he would just end up making a mess, going broke.
For context, there isn't enough of any chemical on this planet that you could procure and aerosolize to "dim" any fucking thing. If you wanted to effectively "blot out the sun" or reduce it's effects, you would evaporate more water for the albedo effect to take hold, and you would have to do a fuck ton all at once, to quickly kick start a cooling phase for an ice age. We aren't even a Type 1 civilization, the amounts of energy it would take to change the climate would be INSANE, as it always has been. But people suck at scales and large numbers so they use it to fool people into giving up money and resources based on fear. People thinking they can alter the climate on a global scale is about as foolish as thinking you can speed up the heat death the universe faster, by having everyone boil a pot of water. It's all hubris and foolishness. Science has turned into a fucking joke.
You assume Gates is doing it for the climate. It's just an excuse to spray us and slow-genocide us.

Climate change is greatly exaggerated and most of the environmental scientists know this. That is why they object to Gates' plan. The reason the environmental scientists normally play climate change up is because they're radical environmental hippies... that's why they became environmental scientists, after all.
This looks a lot like a schizo website trying to sell merch, and the only citation in the article I could see was for a link to another quite schizo-looking website. Why does this belong on the Trump board, and not the conspiracy board?
