This isn’t really new, as far back as the 1860s the Confederates were seen as terrorists for being patriots. In addition, after the war of northern aggression ended the 14th amendment gave the federal government the power to legally enforce the bill of rights on the state level under the guise of “equal rights”. One of the problems with the 14th amendment is that for the federal government to have the power to protect rights it also has to have the power to revoke rights, a power it was never meant to have.
Unfortunately this means, according to precedent, the current federal government has the LEGAL right to take whatever steps necessary to proactively “protect” the rights of certain citizens they view as being threatened. Ultimately this is the thinking that made FDR’s internment camps legal and it will be the same logic that make quarantine facilities legal. If allowed to come to fruition those who refuse to wear masks may very well be labeled bio-terrorists which will be used to justify indefinite internment.
There are 80 million of us. They can try to fear-monger us, string up a few people to "set an example", but in the end we are not going to go away.
