Petroleum is used for a lot of areas in farming. Not just fuel, but production of fertilizers and other chemicals used on the farm.
Rising fuel prices kill the logistics of getting food from the farm to your table as well.
Because it’s a good idea to have price stability when it comes to food? Especially corn and soybeans, which are two staple crops.
