They switched to rice for the raw tonnage of yield. Soybeans take approximately 100x more land per ton to produce, and China has already permanently ruined almost half of their arable farmland. They started importing US soy four years ago. If US prices are falling it's likely due to the CCP sourcing more from Brazil this spring.
Pork belly prices are going crazy. Dropped through the floor then shot up again this month. I think it's COVID rules in the meat-packing plants again, forced culls in China too.

Price of crops doesn't fall in January of each year.
It doesn’t usually spike in December either. My best contract prices are usually during planting in April/May.
