All elections should be in paper ballots with no electronic counting. And if there is no representative for BOTH parties then the voting station shall not be legitimate. And they must be able to see each and every single ballot. Not from 6'+ away.
I've been thinking about this, but I didn't know how to get people on board. First order of business might be warning Republican Senators not to convict on impeachment.
But of utmost importance right now is election reform. But we need specifics. We need a declaration of demands, and we need to get it to the right people (influencers) so they can get politicians on the record.
Blockchain technology. So everything can be audited no questions asked
Edit - Gotta love the downvotes. Imagine downvoting because you don’t understand a technology. This sub is so funny sometimes about what people choose to be moody about
There was a lot of hype about it when I finally sat down years ago to read up on blockchain. Cryptocurrency is one great application of it, of course. The only use I could think of for it though was for elections; paper ballot plus scans and result saved in blockchain: with your private key you can inspect your ballot at any time and verify it was interpreted/counted correctly. Counting up votes in the chain done by open-source simple algorithm, so the tough part seems to still be adjudication (needs to be automated again by open source, with expected 15% or whatever discarded and alarms to trigger audit whencertain conditions are met (to catch that dummie that takes a sharpie to all the R votes in a stack, for example. ) Stolen ballots, people submitting fake ones, or ballots for dead people... probably need something like a thumbprint on the actual ballot and of course increased penalties for anyone caught cheating.
I guess no problem is simple when you have two sides together spending billions of dollars to influence the outcome, but the basic application of blockchain for voting seems solid enough that I am confident it will happen eventually, somewhere where decision-makers want honest elections (don't expect any movement under Dems their plan apparently is to build police state and never have to worry about an honest election again).
At least you understand the potential
I think if implemented correctly (like you said open source blockchain source code) I think the process could be digital.
Edit - I reread your comment and realized a lot of what I typed you were basically saying already. I just speed read your comment and didn’t absorb any of it the first time

Voters should be able to confirm their own vote for 24 months after the election.

With fingerprint verification.
idk. finger print catalogs arent a good idea
