I don’t do zoom calls so maybe this is a dumb question, but when you join one, doesn’t your name show up on the screen? They had no idea he was on the call.

I think when you are on mute it is not--some zoom calls have dozens of people and the names would cover a lot of screen. Even though the Dean recognized his voice, she sure wasn't expecting it but his name might have appeared within a few seconds.
