I'm not entirely sure that's true. I've also heard of sudden-onset gender dysphoria, where girls are basically peer-pressuring each other into "going trans", leading to a lot of girls seeking de-transitioning.
It could just be that men trying to pass as women are more disgusting than women trying to pass as men, and therefore we notice them more.
