They didnt leave the union or start a war because they simply wanted slaves and the north didnt. Slavery was just one component in the rift between northern industry and southern agriculture. The south was paying 90 % of the taxes at the time via tariffs. Most 80% of the southern army didnt even own slaves. For them, they were fighting against an out of control federal government who didnt respect states rights...If england had won the revolution they would have written the history exactly how the north writes it.

Slavery was not a worthy cause for secession.
Reminder here that Britain abolished their slave trade in 1833, without a war, and they do are not experiencing ongoing racial issues like the USA.

There is some truth to what you are saying, but at the end of the day, no shots would have been fired if the South had stopped using slaves.
