The problem in Arizona is they have open primaries which means Democrats can vote in the Republican primary and that’s how John McCain would always win. Basically John McCain would never get a majority of Republican votes in the primary but the Democrats pushed him over the edge.
The theory of why an open primary is better is wrong it’s believed open primaries get everyone involved to pick the most suitable candidate.
All it does is get the candidate the Democrats want and of course the Democrats during the actual election will vote for their candidate in the Democratic Party but they screwed over the Republican by getting a Democrat who is a Republican in name only in office just in case the actual Democrat loses
We changed open primary a while back. Which is why I had to change from independent to R to vote Trump in 2016.
The real problem with AZ is our uni party asshats and the McCain political machine, and rampant voter fraud the last fifteen years or so.
Which is why we moved to MT a few weeks ago. I am still an AZ resident at the moment because I was volunteering with the voter integrity project after election day and still do what I can remotely.
But damn I wish I had been at this meeting. I know about half the people there on both sides of the fight. I miss all the fun sometimes.
