China wants to dominate the world market for manufacturing new "green" products and are engaged in anti-competition where possible to the point of undermining efforts to invest in R&D from competing markets.

Biden opening the US grid to China is about buying from China rather than developing domestic solutions. Behind the scenes Biden is part of a global agreement for China to be the market leader.

China will just slap the word "green" on it and sell it back to us at twice the price.

Taiwan is the biggest issue for manufacturing. Taiwan manufactures 250billion integrated circuits each year! The literally assemble all the chips in the world!.... they want the us grid because the grid can be switched on and off at will after they control it.

They want dependency on them. They also want a kind of exclusive license on the market or the lions share to advance their industrial base at the same time as gauging out your own.

Strategically there's a lot more to it then potentially being able to turn off the lights.

That's been a concern I remember since the 80s but a lot of people fail to see the bigger picture. There's more to it than just that. Having everyone else dependent on your market and the most developed one is a huge advantage broadly. Economically, in terms of development, etc. Being the supplier puts you on top in a lot of ways.
