To elaborate: My wife and father in law own two restaurants in Seattle. We’ve been in business for 13 years and due to the authoritarian measures put in place by our pathetic loser governor Jay Inslee, we’re now on the verge of filing for bankruptcy. Best case scenario we can sell them for less than half of what they’re actually worth. All of this to “protect” people from a fucking virus that 99% of people recover from. I got covid, so did my wife, so did my father in law, so did my 90 year old grandma with Alzheimer’s, so did a family friend that recently had a liver transplant and is severely overweight.....we all recovered! The exploitation of coronavirus is one of the most incredible things I’ve ever seen in my life.
Meanwhile the grocery stores are full of hundreds of people, you can sit on an airplane shoulder to shoulder with hundreds of people, you can go to the fucking mall and their food courts are open!! The fact that there are millions of Americans who legitimately think that ANY of this is about public health absolutely blows my mind.

Umm, we all knew this mid summer and The Who doesn’t announce it until all small business is destroyed. Thanks for the kind words. Not sure where you’re from but we already have $15/hr min wage. Honestly even if covid didn’t crush us, Seattle eventually would have. The cost of doing business here is unbelievable. I can only imagine how many other small family businesses are going through the same thing. It’s really maddening to go through.

In Michigan the state revokes business licenses, liquor licenses of businesses that defy the orders. There aren’t enough GoFundMes to save small business owners from the many fines not to mention the risk of jail! Our business has been destroyed as well. It’s not always as simple as “just defy the orders and reopen”!!

Sometimes you have no choice. It’s not as easy as you think plus white liberals attack your property and threaten your family had it happen to me for not putting covid signs or taking peoples names and phone numbers to trace. People who don’t run a small business especially in the hospitality should lighten up. Restaurants have no army to stop the fire Marshall’s, liquor commissions , health inspectors , state attorney generals crazy white liberals etc. lawyers and fines add up quickly.
