To elaborate: My wife and father in law own two restaurants in Seattle. We’ve been in business for 13 years and due to the authoritarian measures put in place by our pathetic loser governor Jay Inslee, we’re now on the verge of filing for bankruptcy. Best case scenario we can sell them for less than half of what they’re actually worth. All of this to “protect” people from a fucking virus that 99% of people recover from. I got covid, so did my wife, so did my father in law, so did my 90 year old grandma with Alzheimer’s, so did a family friend that recently had a liver transplant and is severely overweight.....we all recovered! The exploitation of coronavirus is one of the most incredible things I’ve ever seen in my life.
Meanwhile the grocery stores are full of hundreds of people, you can sit on an airplane shoulder to shoulder with hundreds of people, you can go to the fucking mall and their food courts are open!! The fact that there are millions of Americans who legitimately think that ANY of this is about public health absolutely blows my mind.
The media and democrats and honestly 75%+ of republicans are truly sick. They will crush you under any circumstance for their own benefit. /rant
My brother lives in Seattle. He’s extremely brainwashed. When the CHAZ zone happened (only because the mayor ordered a no-go zone created for it) he was making excuses for the anarchotyranny and bitching about Trump the whole time with zero concern for the victims in the zone. I told him the “defund the police” insanity was going to impact him no matter what fantasies he had about the nut job left. It’s only a matter of time before his house gets robbed by drug addicts.
Most people in Seattle seem to live in some sort of fantasy land totally disconnected from reality where the only things that matter are social approval, political correctness, and virtue signaling. They seem to believe that their beliefs literally just can’t have consequences in reality.
I can’t imagine anything getting any better any time soon. I think the homeless problem is just getting worse from what I’ve heard. I expect the whole place to turn into a giant CHAZ zone before too long so I’d sell everything and get out.
You have no idea. The homeless situation is astounding. Seriously it’s unbelievable, there are bums everywhere, and they’re not just bums, they’re all totally whacked out of their minds on heroin and meth and god only knows what else. It’s honestly scary to go anywhere in downtown. I have friends that live right in the heart of downtown and they have been attacked and are harassed on a daily basis. It reeks of piss and shit EVERYWHERE. The encampments are really an incredible sight. You should look up some photos, or visit the Seattle Looks Like Shit page on Facebook. To add insult to injury these bums set up camp in our restaurant doorways all the time since we’ve been closed down. We have had to clean up buckets of shit and piss, used needles, etc on multiple occasions. Now we just throw it into the street and let the city deal with it.
