You make assumptions about the accuracy of the labels on the right. Is everything level and plumb? There are many reasons for discrepancies. Reflections, angles, levels, etc. all have an effect. Remember, you are looking at a model vs. real life. Do they not teach basic science anymore?

why in the 'live' inauguration video, is the sun positioned in the south, casting shadows to the north, when the sun/shadow website pulling astronomical positioning data says that the sun would be in the west, casting shadows to the east
Do you have an aerial photograph of the setup of the stage? Are you positive the labeled directions are accurate and true or are you just taking someone's word for it? Tell you what, send me your data and I will take an honest look at it.

hmm I don't follow - the stage is on the steps of the Capitol, which is located on the west side of the building - with the podium facing towards the lawn it's facing West, which means South would be at the top of the photo and North at the bottom of the photo - yes?
