Can you even secede fragments of a state?

If I remember right, during the US civil war, several counties in Virginia went over to West Virginia (or visa versa). They didn't ask permission, they just did it.

In fact Jefferson wrote the Virginia Constitution himself in such a way as to ensure that any counties could break off from the state at will without the permission of the state government, for the purpose of avoiding violent conflict.

It's time to return to the Jeffersonian ideal of America.

Lincoln was a tyrant.

Jefferson had his flaws as all men do, but I think he was a good man of principle ultimately. He was brilliant and we would not be what we are (were) without him. I have historical family ties with Jefferson and several other founders; so family stories and history are kinda intertwined with the founding fathers.

And yes, Lincoln was a tyrant. :)
