To be fair, I don't think we truly saw either of those Decepticons for what they were until after those elections.
McStain showed his colors (to me) with the 2012 NDAA authorizing indefinite detention of Americans.
Mittens showed his colors (to me) after he was elected to the Senate in 2018.
Maybe this says more about my level of attention than their actions, but either way I agree with you. If that's the best the R party can do and Trump was an unwelcome upset, they need to be over.

Both sides run puppets to give the illusion of two parties. We know who really runs things.
We owe a lot to President Trump for removing all doubt about the unitary. Even when he was about to win the the R nomination we saw that the Republicans were trying to take him down because he wasn't the approved nominee.
When he won both clowns, Romeny and Stain had to fully reveal themselves.
