Now this might sound kind of crazy, it might not, but hear me out. How fucking retarded is the average person? Go up to someone on the street, and give them the name of a policy and ask their opinion on it. Watch as they stare blankly at you...
Socrates had a great opinion on Democracy. He compared society to a ship. He asks if you were to head out to sea, would you want just anyone, or a person who is well educated in the skills and procedures of captaining a ship. Of course you would want an educated sea fairer to captain the ship. So, why then would you want any random person to judge who would rule the country? Voting in an election is a skill, and like any other skill only those who have been systematically taught should have the right to vote. Only those who are educated in ruling should be given the absolute power of the vote.
He makes an EXCELLENT point. Now, I don't think people should be denied the ability to vote all together, but I don't think people should be able to determine the fate of others without being well educated in the matter. You should be able to vote once you can prove that you are able to do so with responsibility.
If you've ever actually looked over the test required to gain citizenship, it's not a piece of cake. This would be an excellent base to build off of, but the test should also incorporate questions pertaining to governmental processes. Once you've passed the test, and of course provide proof of citizenship/identification, you can then be issued your (mandatory) voter ID.
This one simple thing could COMPLETELY change the political landscape in a few years, and let us avoid situations like we are currently in. With educated voters, there is NO chance they could pull of fraud like this, without it raising questions. In fact, a person like Biden would have NEVER even been a candidate. Low information voters are the Democrats most valuable resource. Without them, the party could never exist.

If we had a media, or at least one fucking channel that just laid everything out, unbiased, sober, realistic policy descriptions for each candidate, JUST ONE FUCKING CHANNEL running the info 24/7 for the months leading up to the election. BUT NO we have this fucking cartoon news bullshit.
But people would still choose to tune that out because it's "boring" and they can't condense it into a 5 minute segment to fit their short attention span, or because CNN said it's fake news, or because they are missing their show on TMZ.
Without requiring a barrier to entry, there's no guarantee they will actually devote any time or resources into learning. With requiring a test, there's no way around learning the truth. If course you could just lie and fudge the test, there are always people who grift and cheat. It would still have a large impact, and many people to lazy to actually give a fuck would just not do it, and not vote.
It would make it so the majority of voters are people that genuinely WANT to vote, and care about the candidate and consequences.
Which is a funny reality given that democrats on average have received more education.
Yeah, but how do define education? They are being TAUGHT things, but are they GOOD things? Not all types of education are beneficial or necessary. Having a PhD in trans unicorn farts sounds useless to me.
