Do you guys trust the vaccines? I've been very hesitant about getting vaccinated and I wanted to know your thoughts

Why would you need a vaccine for a virus that has a 99%+ survival rate?

Well my dad (thankfully he is much better now) got covid recently and it was pretty terrible for him (and he doesn't have any other health problems). I would mainly want to get it to make sure that I don't spread it to people like him who might not be as lucky
