UK sports channels advertize big matches like "Chelsea FC vs Manchester United in the cup next weekend!" and do everything in their power not to mention that it's the women's cup, in the hopes of suckering a few hundred viewers and quadrupling their viewing figures.
Women's sports are uninteresting to watch because no one wants to watch the B team compete. Throw some men in there completely dunking all over women and that's some quality TV.
Some women's sports are fine. I'm thinking Rugby, Curling, Golf, Tennis (to some degree) kind of things. Rugby simply because these women usually aren't the dainty but fit women, they're usually pretty strength orientated (Men's rugby is still generally better to watch though). The team competitions are generally pretty lack luster
To be fair most people never gave a shit about women's sports in the first place.
That's why the WNBA has like 2% of the ratings of the NBA.
Sports is the entire existence of any pro athlete. It’s their career.
