Ok. Help me out, here. What country did you kick communism out of? I'm guessing Poland. Or maybe one of a handful of other eastern european countries. It matters, because history leading up to conflict is important for context.

Did anyone in those countries prevent their initial communist takeover? No. Maybe you kicked out the communists eventually, but where were the tough guys in the beginning when the communists first took over?

When the communists took over, I suspect your predecessors felt that they had much to lose by resisting, so they tread lightly and urged caution. When you finally kicked them out, you probably felt that you had little left to lose, and so violence was your best option.

When America has lost nearly everything, I hope we stand up like you did. It would have been nice if the patriots in America would have violently repelled our first communism takeover attempt - unlike every other country in history.

A contributing factor in our case is the deliberate and planned "slow march through the institutions" that has softened America for this moment. I think your country may not have suffered from this handicap. In any case, people (no matter where or when) don't learn the lessons of history.

So, our current situation is grim. But, historically it may have been inevitable. “Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.”
