The silver lining here is that an economic and political collapse like the one that's inbound MIGHT wake enough people up to the fact that our system has failed and should be replaced entirely with one that works. Everyone just assumes democracy is the best and you're not allowed to even question that. The fact that you're not allowed to even question that proves that it can't be the best. Universal suffrage can't be the best if you're not allowed to question it. A republic can't be the best if you're not allowed to question it. So this impending calamity has the potential to wipe the slate clean and allow for a new, better system of government to take root, which could never happen otherwise.
