What makes StartPage more private?

Google and other search engines keep track of all your browsing history, startepage.com does not, it does not store any browsing history on its servers whatsoever, each search is purged within an hour or less off their servers. Startpage does not retain nor sell any of your data, it is a Dutch search engine based in the Netherlands, which has the strictest and most private servers on the planet by law. You can also set up a proxy for extended privacy, using that in conjunction with a VPN and TOR browser and you can become virtually invisible so long as you are smart and don't expose any personal identifiers. Startpage.com is also the only search engine recommended by privacy expert Dr. Katherine Albrecht (privacy advocate/radio host and author of Spychips).

I was just reading a pros & cons list vs DDG.

Tried it out. Nice! I do, however, sometimes prefer DDG's alternative search results, especially when looking for something obscure like Medicare or private insurance payment policies. For example, I want to review United HealthCare's payer policy on synthetic skin grafts, Google just shows me a bunch of ads and tries to sell my insurance. DDG gets me to where I need to go.

On my con side, I don't like that DDG does not allow the user to filter by time. And sometimes I do want Google-type results.

It seems like this actually does Google results, without the Google spying. I'll use it, thanks!!!!
