Personally, I've lived in and out of Communist Countries so I made it a hobby to study and learn about these kinds of Leftist Marxist movements and how things worked out the past.
Here is something so common it's not just a 'rule' but nearly a "Law of Science" it's so absolutely standard every time:
Socialists will kill off the 'useful idiots', appeasers, conceding simps AND the most aggressive front-line former agitators first and always.
Once that Socialist Regime attains power that is.
More infamous to Westerners was the 'night of long knives' but in summary, Hitler's Nazis were delighted to have the 'Brownshirts' carry out Antifa-like activity UNTIL Nazis attained and solidified power in which case the last thing they wanted was a bunch of rock-throwing agitators and professional trolls milling around reminding the Nazis they were good at taking down governments and getting people riled up, burning down buildings etc.
Mao's win in China and the subsequent cultural revolution(s) is actually an ongoing series of this phenom where the first rounds of persecution were actually the intellectuals and media people who "I for one welcome our new overlords". Once they solidified power the last thing they wanted were social influencers who were very good at manipulating, conceding and 'welcoming new overlords'.
A whole lot of this happened all over the Soviet Union and some who got it worst were clergymen and again, intellectuals who were really the simps, the justifiers, the conceders who, prior to the revolution were the soft socialists, the leftist progressive types 'making the case for Marx'.
It's a helluva thing if you ever look into this but don't forget the next people who'd get wrecked and ruined:
The 'Soft Right' or the conceding opponents. Here again, you might think that a "Mitch McConnell" will be rewarded with some mercy, that they will take it easy on the MAGA people who worried about 'Optics' and told everyone to 'Hold the line.. hold the line' and the ones who were very polite and helpful to CNN - HOWEVER - History says that once the commies attain and solidify power and massacre, jail and destroy their own useful idiots.. ...then they wreck the shit out of the softest most appeasing, most conciliatory opponents.
By the way fair warning to your Pastor who, that Sunday did a sermon ending with "After all... shouldn't black lives matter? The other sheep mattered to Jesus and they should matter to us".
Your Pastor will die a horrifying death in a prison, really tortured to death or just going mentally ill at the satanic evil psychological abuse until he suicides himself. It will be that bad for that Pastor or any clergy who think they were being like Jesus when they hugged Leftism.
