They actually will have to get involved at some stage. There is going to be such overreach by the Democrats that the Supreme Court will have to get involved if only to protect the Constitution.
I think when scotus said texas and 20 other states have no standing in the texas case they threw out the constitution. If not then certainly the intentional delay of president trump's cases make it clear we have no supreme court justice
I doubt they want to double down on that though. If the report of Roberts shouting at the other justices is true then they were terrified of taking that case - but that doesn't mean they want to completely destroy their own credibility. If anything I would expect them to rule in our favor for a while on anything that doesn't risk changing the outcome of the election, just to try and get back in people's good books.
