I went to a private high school that thrived on their graduates going to high end universities. The two or three people I know that skipped college overall are the ones who have much more life skills from being out on their own early and have that DIY boomer knowledge that me and my boogie friends lack. I wish school taught me shop classes and taxes looking back on it all.

Yeah, and most of the people who are actually going aren’t from poverty or low income places in general (obviously now always though.) It’s usually middle class to high classes. These kids believe they’re entitled to the “college experience” that’s why they go. They had most of their lives paid for and everything handed to them. So they lack common sense and financial responsibility. Plus don’t care because they’re just doing it so they have a degree (even though it’s mostly useless), and mainly for their experience.
