The is about a handful of senators and representatives that are Patriots, the rest are nothing but power and money grabbing corrupt individuals. That is 5 or so out of 535 that are Patriots. Estimating 99% are corrupt. It has been told years ago that the deep state won't allow a senator or representative to be elected to our government unless they are a) corrupt already, b) can be bribed or c) open to be blackmailed. It matters not whether they are a demoncrap or repukican - just available to be controlled by money or previous corruption. This has been going on for decades.
