It was effective for the democrats because they stick together all the way to hell and back even when they all know they’re defending a lie. Republicans on the other hand are a bunch of gutless cowards and won’t stand on principle as a caucus for anything and will even join in with democrats knowing they’re lying just so they can be invited to the DC swamp parties.
