I need to get one of these surrender monkey Mosin-Nagants. The one I lost in that boating accident was pretty accurate, but I could imagine how much better a fresh bore would be.
The barrel on mine is pretty close to immaculate. Slugs out to .311, so I use .312 projectiles in my reloads. I have thought about finding a heavy barrel upgrade for it, but it's kinda hard to convince myself to go full bubba on it.

Any decent smith can easily replace the barrel. Even put the sights and lig back on. Give you a bit more muzzle to thread for a device.
I can still ring an 8” plate at 400 with it and steel cased ammo with the original barrel. Bought it for $75 back in the day.
