No, they blamed Trump because it was perfect timing for the election year. So many people in D.C. were smiling ear to ear when the Floyd case broke.
The election was the primary reason they did it (China Joe could claim he would stop the next Floyd incident if he became president), but absolving Democrats of all blame was a secondary reason. Keep in mind that in the days following the incident, a few people shared images of a guy wearing a MAGA-style hat that said "Make Whites Great Again" and then claimed that the guy in the picture was Derek Chauvin.

Since the Tolerant Left™ demanded Affirmative Action/hiring quotas (and demanded that "wipipo" shouldn't be allowed to "police" black communities) the predictable results have been widespread and little-reported.
The hot potato MSM/fake "news" refuses to touch: although they misrepresent POC crime and officer-involved shootings in general, MSM/fake "news" consistently reinforces the false "white Police hunting POCs for sport" mantra at every opportunity, when according to real-world statistics this is not the case.
Many riots/looting sprees have been launched over the fate of a POC arrest-resistor who attacked police, but the dirty secret is that in many of those cases, the officer who shot the perp was a black man, or woman. Demanding that POCs be policed by fellow POCs (in high-density POC neighborhoods) did nothing to solve the issue of POC crime resulting in police shootings, it only served to change the race of the officer forced to defend him/herself.

After doing research, most of the people who are crying "oppression, muh white supremacy" are pretty well off. There is no evidence that they are being oppressed. They have multiple degrees, talk shows, start ups, think tanks, organizations, et al. I don't see average black people complaining about being oppressed, I do see a lot of people being used as shields for oppression (i.e. Ben Crump).
Yeah, I came to that conclusion this summer when the billionaire Oprah had the fucking nerve to claim that a homeless white person had more privilege than her...

I've become somewhat obsessive in analysing the left and the tweet here isn't just a quip. When I hear all this racism stuff I know as a matter of fact that it's bullshit with one exception.
There really is systematic racism in the left wing. Racism is an understatement. It's corruption. You will be discriminated against, excluded and mistreated for any reason or no reason. Race is a small part of that phenomena.
In my extensive analysis of the left I have repeatedly come to the same conclusion. What they're talking about is real and that is their world.
It breaks down when they measure us according to their set of rules. They get it all wrong but their set of rules are correct for them.
For example when we do something and then they say we're doing it because we're racist that's not true.
If they were doing it however then it would be true!
The fundamental problem of the left is that their programming is different to ours. They have a different operating system but they're completely unaware of this.
They still on a fundamental level interpret us according to their own inner workings.
They have very weird codes that are hard for us to understand as well. Their codes are often faulty and this is where they clash with ours as well.
It's often very hard to conceive of or explain these differences. They're highly abstract.
One of the things we do when we're talking to them and they get something wrong is we focus on them being wrong. We don't really think of the specific mechanism at play. Stupidity is often the right answer yet inexact.
Quite often their mind is elsewhere like socially thinking such as what will people think or feel rather than conscious of the actual purpose of a thing.
This misunderstanding and dysfunction leads to an ironic conclusion. We must smash systematic racism. You can be used and abused for any other reason though just not race. We must systematically smash the left wing system to eradicate institutional racism. They're the problem. They're the broken machine. Racism is just one of many mistakes it makes. Racism doesn't simply originate from ideology but also cognitive defect. If they're still defective they can never truly not be racist despite how hard they might even try.
Many people who call racism do so because it's the only thing that gives you any standing. If someone fires you for an unfair reason for example or a corrupt reason no one cares unless it's racism. What they're talking about is very real in the left wing. We see this with all their anti-competition and other forms of corruption. Imagine being under that system all the time and surrounded by it.
In many respects we're fighting the same battle as other people but calling all the corruption racism and blaming it all on whitey actually gets in the way of the effort to stamp out abuse. It is not confined to any particular race but it has greatly confined itself to the left wing political faction and it's that weakness we ought to be exploiting.
Crump is toxic. He exploits people for his own publicity and money while spewing lies and stoking hate.
Go to the hood and count the number of Black Lives Matter signs. Now go to the 'gentrified' part of town, the neighborhoods where they kicked out all the black people & knocked down their homes to build Starbucks, and do the same. Liberals are assholes, none moreso than white liberals. Malcolm X saw right through them.
A comment about gentrification though, it is funny how people have such selective memories. Likely gentrified neighborhoods were white before they were black. In my city, most of the black neighborhoods that are being gentrified were previous white neighborhoods that were destroyed. One specifically, had a mixture of huge houses (built prior to 1900 when the city was small) and cute bungalows built between 1900 - 1920. The neighborhood was destroyed when they started putting apartments around the outskirts and white flight. It is only now that people are coming back and reclaiming the neighborhood. Which is a mixture of people.
I wish I could remember the source, but I read a pretty good academic paper once on the political and social benefits of claiming to be oppressed.

Same thing is democrat cites that vote democrats into every major position, including DA and police chiefs. Whenever there's something wrong, like it is about 100% of the time, they blame "systemic racism" of Republicans, even though there's not a Republican in sight.
That is a question for which there is no politically acceptable answer.

I used to work for a so-called “prestigious” (liberal) academic book publisher at a major university where a certain former President used to teach. They were going on and on one day in a meeting about how great affirmative action is and how it’s necessary. The 20 people at the table were all white. Not even one fucking Asian. THEY are the gatekeepers, THEY have the hiring power —- and they are all talk. Such bullshit. Liberals are just as racist as everyone else.

systemic racism DOES exist: it's called AFFIRMATIVE ACTION and similar names. Essentially it boils down to racism against whites, especially white, non-crippled, straight, Christian men.
We need to hammer this hard wherever it pops up. People seem to be almost confused by the direction this country has taken since Biden was installed. I say, push as hard as we can every time the conversation comes up.

You can go back even further in history to blacks in acting. Who held blacks back from acting in plays or movies and had whites in blackface instead? It wasn't white conservatives. Even gone with the wind that black woman won an award but they didn't let her on the stage to accept it something, was that conservatives or lefty democrats?
Go back even further in history where they didn't allow women to act and men did all the acting. Do you think it was conservatives that didn't want women acting or egotistical male actors?

I'm a bit drunk and lazy. But like, I feel nothing actually changed, and literally another cop could easily find his knee on a black man's neck for harsher reasons than Floyd and no one will blink over it unless it happens in 2024.
