Funfact, Division 3 schools give "merit scholarships" and cannot give sports scholarships, however, they consider star athletes for merit scholarships they wouldn't be eligible for based on grades. Once the student athlete is enrolled in the school they cannot take the scholarship away even if they never step foot on the athletic field, as long as they keep their grades up (usually a B average, so easily achievable). Because gender identity is fluid, your son can go back to identifying as an evil white cis dude on the second day of school, and enjoy his scholarship for the next four years.
