This is a Pelican 1495 which is for a laptop, really low key and shouldn't tip anyone off there's a legit AR Pistol in there.
AKs are a little tougher since you can't disassemble upper from the lower but you can fold the stock, which will make it thicc.
If you've got an M92 PAP, that's about 23 inches long and I don't think that'll work but if you get a Mini Draco, that's like 15 inches long. That might work in the same case without a stock...with a folder though, you'll need a thicker case and it won't look as discreet.
I've got an M92 with a CNC Warrior folding arm brace and it does come off but would require some effort.
You got me thinking though. If you have picatinny rail on the back like the newer M92s come with, you can run a folding brace and taking it off requires an allen wrench. That would seconds to do.
9mm Largo or 10mm magnum would be better then 9mm but that would have to be custom made.. You can pep up the 9mm in a longer barrel with Power Pistol powder and 115 grain hollow points..

I have a 10/22 takedown and the front and rear are separated when broken down but it still seems to be close enough, but I really need to add a red dot to the barreled end just so I can keep zero

And an AK does disassemble pretty similar to an AR, you just would need a socketed screwdriver to remove and reattach the stock.

They're 9 Colt mags that are on their sides... the case isn't very deep at all, here's how the mags look.
